Updated to the latest Version on your iphone? Received carrier settings and the internet suddenly stopped working? We’ll you can simply -UnlockIt!-

Here’s How to do it! :

We are using a tool from developers that creates an XML file based on your settings, and changes the APN Accordingly.

1. Go to http://unlockit.co.nz   in safari in the iPhone

2. Press Continue

 

3. Select “Custom APN”:

4. Enter your APN details : For Zain Kuwait in my case they are

ادخل المعلومات حسب الشبكة. ل زين الكويت ادخلها كالتالي

      APN: pps

      username: pps

      Password: pps

5. Click on “Create Profile”

6.  Click on “Install”

 

7. Click “Install Now”

 

تم ادخال التعديلات تأكد من امكانية التصفح

Try browsing now, the settings should now be active.

To check if it has installed go to Settings –> General –> you will find a field called “Profile”

 

A Link will be created on your desktop just in case you might need it again.

At last, we managed to fix the RSS and some encoding issues that we had! It took us quite some time but here we are.

We are now officially :

We’ll  be returning some of the widgets we had on the right tomorrow morning, as i’m kinda looking for altenatives to what we already had. The most important thing for me now is the fact that RSS feeds are working fine, and now you should be able to use our site with your favorite RSS reader. I suggest Google Reader!

Tutorial – Win 7: Get rid of those Arabic setup menus on your computer!

Ever wondered how you can make those menu’s on your computer that appear in Arabic or any other language, appear in English? Especially those to do with the graphics cards setup and application setup that are shown when you start setting up a new device or softeware! Well, here’s the solution:

 

NB: Please save all your work as the process will ask you to restart your computer near the end!

 

1. Go to the “Control Panel” –> Usually By Clicking on Start –> Control Panel

2. Go to Regional and Language Settings, by clicking on “Region and Language”

3. Click on “Administrative”

4. Click on “Change System Locale”

5. Select the language of your preference! –> In My case I changed it from Arabic (Kuwait) to English (United States)

6. Restart at the prompt.

7. Check out some of the apps that had arabic menus, in myu case the graphics card menu was in Arabic, after the restart it is now in English like it should be.

Located after Magic Mall (If your coming from Fahaheel’s side), the new Chilis is now open! I haven’t been yet, but i’ll post some shots when i go. For Me Chilis is my personal favorite place to go to both with family and freinds, it used to be our casual dining location when I was in college, and now its where i take my wife and kid :D.. Great food, Great people.. Now even better cause i don’t have to drive to AlManshar or the one next to Kuwait towers!

Building a Mosque at the price of 65 fils a day!

For 65 fils per day you can contribute in building a mosque that can fit up to 2000 people, this one has started to be built and you can still join in to ensure that you get the ajer!

I only wish that all telecoms can provide this service, a lot of people would love to participate!  I’d like to thank Sheikh Meshari AlKharraz for his great SMS messages every day when your subscribed to these services. Sometimes you do need to be remembered some of the great stuff that he both sends on Voice MMS and Text Messages.

TUTORIAL: How to change your facebook URL to a vanity URL i.e. www.facebook.com/yourname

I have been asked, how can you create a vanity URL on facebook ? i.e. www.facebook.com/yourname

 

Simply log on to facebook.com and copy and paste this URL into your address bar : www.facebook.com/username

(don’t change username into your username! – just copy and paste it as it is)

You will be redirected to facebook’s username page where you will find the option to set a username for your profile and for each of your pages.

 

Why you would do this? 

It will make it easier for you to share it with your friends, groups or even customers, and will help make it easier to find you (not sure everyone wants this :P)

Help Wanted – iPad Apps Recommendations

Finally I had the chance to get myself an iPad 2! Now I need your help to tell me what Apps I should install and if there’s one better than the other.

These are the major ones that I currently have : Oplayer (Video Players), Twitter (Official app – is there anything better? ), Facebook (Official App), iKout, iSlash HD (I need to get more games), Download HD, Wunder Radio.

What I need : Good TV player app, High qualtiy games (Strategy games would be recommended), Any good apps for babies ?

What else do you recommend ? Your comments would be highly appreciated!

iPad 2 Jailbreak This Week!

Just read around that there are speculations that the ipad 2 jailbreak is coming out anytime now!  A couple of screen shots of those guys involved with the Jailbreak, stated that it will be released any time now, and others stated that the jailbreakme.com website is revamping for jailbreakme version 3, which should support the iPad 2!  I will definitely keep you updated via the blog twitter and facebook.

A Walk around The Sultan Center Sha’ab [*100+ pics*]

We were invited to cover the opening of the New Sultan Center Sha’ab park branch. Its like a shopping center out of Kuwait, I’m really glad they have something of this standard here ! Everything was new, you get food thats imported from France, the US and the UK, as well as load of other different places. The whole place gives you a feeling of freshness and good health. When you step through the entrance you’re greeted by the green, red, yellow, fruit and vegges.

The first thing that caught my eyes were the free-range egg and diary products (which is on its way to being organic) in home grown and raised in wafra farms in the south of Kuwait. They had a very nice and interesting setup. They also had Kuwait – grown grapes, which tasted really good.

Here are some photos of all the greens and reds and yellows and oranges that great you on your way in! They had a whole section of mangoes they smelled sooooo good!

Of-course this Sultan Center is different from any other, where they have incorporated some dine-in areas, where shoppers can come in and have something to eat while they are doing their shopping – for me this is super :P, I can do my groceries and take my wife out dinner in 1 go 😛 and they had different types of foods for all the different tastes!

We also had a chance to meet Chef Ahmed AlBader preparing some great treats! The preparations looked so good my stomach was sending red-alert messages 😛 Its true when they say a picture is worth a thousand words, check these ones out!
