In my point of view, people got so carried away with the message on the Ad, and didn’t look at the offer it came with!

1.25 KWD To talk all day for one day!

PS: In my point of view i think that for this offer if Zain emphasized on the prices in the offer the turn-back would’ve been huge!

New GMC Terrain from GMC Kuwait

The New GMC Terrain was launched last Tuesday, and is availble in their showrooms, currently there are 4 main models available, the v4 w/fabric interior, the V6 w/Fabric interior, the V6 Leather interior + sunroof and the pimped out V6 with all chrome and a different interior decor. Currently only the two base models are available in their showrooms. Quite modern and userfriendly interior, I didn’t take it for a test drive as I was on a hurry on the way back from work, but i managed to get some great shots and talked to sales rep. Read on for more info :

 

The prices are as follows :

1. 4 Cylinder SLE base model : 7699 KWD

2. 6 Cylinder SLE Base Model : 8299 KWD

3. 6 Cylinder w/leather, and sunroof 9599 KWD

4. 6 Cylinder w/leather, sunroof, navigation and chrome outlines 10999 KWD

How to make the Ultimate Hamburger BBQ

Wouldn’t be a weekend post without the ultimate recipe for one of the best hamburgers you can prepare at home!!

Just a note.. Make sure you listen to the weather forcast beforehand hehe.. you don’t want a sand-flavoured hamburger hehe..

 

What you will need :

  1. BBQ Grill – Small one would be fine, with a tray preferable.
  2. Something to flip the burgers with
  3. BBQ Coal – Get a good type, some of the cheap ones will take forever to light and burn out fast.
  4. BBQ Igniters, (Flamingo brand is good) small white cubes that will keep a flame going long enough to start the coal burning.
  5. Hamburgers : I go for Americana Jumbo burgers you’ll find them at your local co-op – Best Tasting on a BBQ!
  6. Chedder Sliced cheese (or any other sliced cheese of your preference)
  7. Ketchup – I go with Heinz

8. Toast buns for burgers

9. Mayonnaise

10. HP BBQ sauce – secret ingredient 1

11. Garlic Sauce (only for garlic lovers) for that sharp taste

If you like to get more in there – you can have fresh cut onions and tomatoes, as well as a lettuce leaf/burger.

 

Now for the process :

  1. Make sure all your BBQ apparatus is clean.
  2. You have to take the burgers out of the freezer and remove the plastic casing leave them out so the ice melts and start the next step.
  3. Add the coal to the BBQ in a pyramid shape. Placing the igniting cubes in strategic locations beneath the coal (places you can reach)
  4. Ignite the cubes.
  5. Wait till all the coal is flaming red and the fire cools down.
  6. Distribute the coal evenly around the grilling area
  7. Place the grille about the now ready coal.
  8. Get the burgers onto the grille.
  9. For the first 5 mins keep flipping the burgers ensuring most of the remaining ice melts off (if any)
  10. Then flip the burgers in intervals of about 1.5 – 2 mins. until desired level of grilling has been reached – I usually go until its well done all over.
  11. If you would like extra garlic taste in there put a spread of 2-3 teaspoons of garlic on one side and flip the burger twice before removing from grille. (Secret recipe)
  12. In the mean time have a fellow chef prepare the buns.
  13. Cut in half
  14. Put sliced cheese on bottom bun

For the secret mix :

Mix Ketchup + Heinz BBQ Sauce + Mayonnaise in a mixing platter (if you want garlic add 2 teaspoons).

After burger is ready

  1. Place Burger on cheese
  2. Place mix on burger and if you want add a second slice of cheese on top (when burger is hot so it melts on it!).
  3. Make sure you don’t forget the poor guy doing the BBQing and always compliment the chef hehe.. 😛

I was actually just coming out of Center Point shuwaik, when me and my wife first noticed a huge smoke like cloud. It wasn’t just brown it was brown black and looked pretty freaky.. I called home and asked them to open up the new channels, but they said nothing was on. We went in the car and after a little while.. It was a total blackout. We had to drive from Shuwaikh back to my parents place in Salwa. Thank good I had a GPS inside my car, you have no idea how hard it is to see through the dust. It was an unbelievable experience.
