I have been asked, how can you create a vanity URL on facebook ? i.e. www.facebook.com/yourname
Simply log on to facebook.com and copy and paste this URL into your address bar : www.facebook.com/username
(don’t change username into your username! – just copy and paste it as it is)
You will be redirected to facebook’s username page where you will find the option to set a username for your profile and for each of your pages.
Why you would do this?
It will make it easier for you to share it with your friends, groups or even customers, and will help make it easier to find you (not sure everyone wants this :P)

COol! Thanks… at first I was able to do mine because it was auto! I signed on and Facebook asked me on the spot to pick a URL.. but I did not know how to do it afterwards so THANKS 😀 Because it works for pages as well so I created my page now

Congrats on the shorter facebook link .. It is quite cool I agree with you, the only downside is when someone has already taken the name you wanted :s But for most of us now, we should know how to do it and grab those fancy URLs..
