Amazon Cloud Drive – What All the rest of cloud Storage services should have been like!

YousefAndroid, Apple, Applications, Cool Offers, Deals, Internet, Photography, Technology 5 Comments

I just fell across Amazon Cloud a couple of days ago, I wish I would have had it sooner. It basically gives you unlimited photo uploads if you have Amazon Prime, and the best thing about it is that you don’t have to sync the photos to all your devices! For me, I can just upload all my files online now after a shoot and not worry about loosing that file or having to get extra storage or buying extra hard drives! Just sync everything up to my Amazon Account and be able to access it on all my devices!

Amazon Cloud Offer

This has come extremely helpful when I want to publish a random photo from my album, I can search through my folders and find a suitable one on my phone and directly post it! until now I have about 5 GBs of photos uploaded.

As you can see from the photo above my prime membership made me eligible for the unlimited photo plan which i will make very good use of.

This is what the album view looks like, all the different photographs from my posts are now a click away.

The only downside i see right now are the sharing options, its basically a personal drive and theres no option to share via a link or to upload your photos to your website through the link from your  cloud storage like the already existing dropbox or Google Drive. You can even choose to upload all the photos you take on your phone to the cloud with a simple tick box and have all your photos everywhere all the time!

To get Amazon cloud Drive on your devices, simply visit Amazon Cloud Drive

2 Weeks ago a drifting competition was organised by BMRC about 20 cars participated in the event, and I was lucky enough to be able to go and get some cool photos of the drivers competing for the drifting championship and some of their test laps. unfortunately I wasn’t there for the final timed version as it got a little too late for me. Please do share the link with the drivers!

It was somewhat difficult to get that perfect photo due to the lack of time and the lighting conditions, but I was able to get some cool shots of some of the cars that participated that day, hope you like’em and please tell the drivers to contact me if they wanted higher-res photos of their cars !

(If you would like to support me and my photography, you can purchase high-res, printed versions of your photographs! )

Sl350 - Its965

The Mercedes Benz SL350 – Perfect Combination of Sports and Elegance

YousefCars, Kuwait, Mercedes, Review Leave a Comment

Mercedes Benz Sl350 Its965

While there might be many cars out there that would be considered a bargain in terms of their pricing, it would be difficult for them to match the elegance and luxury of the Mercedes Benz SL Class. In this road test I had the Mercedes Benz SL 350 with the 3.5 Litre V6 that produces 302 bhp. The car was smooth when you wanted it to be and would put you back in the seat when you hit the gas. Although it was a little too quiet for my taste every once in a while you would hear the gurgle of the exhaust when the top is down. Handles like a sports car but as comfortable as a daily driver should be!

[shashin type=”photo” id=”2915″ size=”Medium” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”] The Interior of the SL350 is as elegant as any other Mercedes Benz if not more, the LED accents at night, the smooth wooden/plastic finish fits in with the contrast of the brushed metal finish on the shift knobs, buttons and shift lever. For a moment you would sometimes forget you were driving a convertible, theres good noise cancellation and under cruising there would be very little noise coming in due to it being a convertible.
[shashin type=”photo” id=”2911,2917,2918,2919,2907,2914″ size=”medium” columns=”2″ order=”user” position=”center”]
The SL is equipped Beautiful LED and BiXenon Intelligent Light Headlamps that look even better when you concentrate more on the details, and the amount of light output and quality is what you desire in all the cars that you drive. The rear lines on the tail lights clearly tell the driver behind you to stay away, and you would notice they’re a bit longer and meaner than the younger SLK.  [shashin type=”photo” id=”2904″ size=”medium” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]
[shashin type=”photo” id=”2903,2906,2886,2899″ size=”medium” columns=”2″ order=”user” position=”center” crop=”y”]

The Exterior of the SL Series is one of those designs that you look at and look back on and notice that there’s a detail in there you haven’t already really seen. The one I reviewed had the AMG Sports package installed, making it even nicer to the eye.  There’s a rear wind deflector that reduced the amount of air that circulated around the driver which helps when driving a little faster with the top down. [shashin type=”photo” id=”2884″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”] [shashin type=”photo” id=”2878,2902,2892,2887,2876,2871″ size=”medium” columns=”2″ order=”user” position=”center” crop=”y”]

The boot space is quite spacious (unfortunately I forgot to photograph it), but the nice thing about the SL is that you can collapse the hard top separator if you’re not thinking of opening the roof, and you would have a decent amount of luggage space. You also have a storage compartment behind the driver seat which can hold  a hand bag or small laptop bag.

Go Pro Time-Lapse Experience

YousefElectronics, Go Pro, Kuwait, Technology Leave a Comment

I haven’t done a Time-Lapse video in quite some time, so I decided to make one looking at changes in the clouds, this was shot in Time-Lapse mode on a GoPro Hero 3+, connected to an external power source via USB and kept it running for around 8 hours with the photo /30 seconds option. I later used the GoPro Studio software to create an AVI which I then decreased the speed on Adobe Premiere Pro.

The sky wasn’t that clear today, but it doesn’t quite show through the lens. Apparently I shot using a 3000×4000 pixel resolution, so it would be nice to watch this on the new 5k screens. Hope you enjoy it!

One of the things I love to do most is work on my car, its been a while since i’ve written about my modifications if ever, I tend to play around the electrical systems a lot, and now i’ve been trying to do manually install everything myself without relying on garages unless Its way too complicated for me, I have a tendency to read the installation manuals any way, so I decided to get all my tools in place and start doing the work myself. It sometimes takes a lot longer, but you get to learn a lot!

I’ll also try to reference some good shops and garages you can take your cars to, so if you’re interested please share any questions you might have and i’ll try to provide you with as much help as possible.

A list of things that I will start writing about :

1. ScanGuage II and how it was installed in the top storage Area

2. Roof top lighting wiring

3. How to wire your lighting system

4. Gobi Roof Rack install and water issues

5. Windshield replacement

6. Tires, Wheel Alignment and Balancing

7. Different Car washes and their rates

8. Replacing the rear corner bumper of the FJ cruiser.

9. Installing towing wiring and which kit to use.

10. All about bigger tires and the body chop mod.

11. Lift kits and how high should you go for.

12. Servicing your vehicle.

13. Installing an aftermarket stereo, advantages and disadvantages.

14. Installing Rear Seat Screens (for the kids).

15. All about roof racks for the FJ cruiser

16. The TRD Supercharger and programming the ECU.

17. Installing an additional Horn on the FJ cruiser.

18. Servicing the TRD Supercharger (on my friends 2007 Manual Trans FJ)

19. Installing extra switches, where to get them from and where to place them

20. The Dual Battery setup, is it worth it ? and how much it costs.

21. LED lighting, its benefits, drawbacks and prices

22. ORP – A visit and a walk through our local 4×4 store (offroad performance).

23. Replacing oil and how much you should put in.

24. The storage drawers on my FJ cruiser.

I’ll try to add to this list and link to the posts that I have written. It will be a bumpy ride, but I hope you’ll enjoy the content, if you like DIY projects, this website will be the place to be in. I’ll start to document my DIY projects and share them with you for knowledge sharing and so that I can learn new things as I go a long.

Its been a long time since i’ve been addicted to a game on the mobile phone, Mushroom Wars a strategy game where you overcome your opponents by building barracks and gathering your troops and taking over territory, you game could last from 30 seconds up to 30 mins depending on how lucky you are and how strong your opponents are! Its even worst than high noon because not only does it depend on luck on where you are located on the map, but how cleverly you overcome your opponents!

Its available for the iOs and Android Platforms. Highly recommended, but gamer beware – Its highly competitive and highly addictive!

@Taw9eel – My Very Negative Experience

YousefKuwait, Review 14 Comments

Taw9eel Disaster

Last night I remembered why last time was the last time I ordered from @Taw9eel, thinking they would be any better, I was wrong – They are worse!

6:18 PM -I put in my order With delivery time stated to be within 4 hours!

10:18 PM – I call, they seem like they haven’t even dispatched my order, and they tell me he will arrive in one hour max.

11:30 PM – Still no driver, frustrated I call the call center tell them I will go to bed its way past my bedtime and he asked me when I would like it delivered, I said 4 PM.

12:05 AM I get a call (I explicitly told the call center guy I will go to sleep now – why call me up at 12 AM? you are too late)

Today 4 PM my delivery is still not here! I call the call center and they don’t even apologize for the delay, they say they will call me back . (Ofcourse they didn’t call back!)

6 PM They say the driver is on the way! 5 mins later they call and say the driver is on the way (delivery guys different than the call center).

7:48 PM Yesterday’s order arrives. Driver leaves I unpack, driver forgot 1 box.. Call back driver to get the third box :/

For me, It will be the last time I’ll ever think of ordering from Taw9eel!

They have very poor customer service (good call center response time but no resolution to my problem, they’re totally disconnected from the delivery dept.). There’s poor followup, no professionalism with deadlines (why state 4 hours if you can’t keep that timing ?), they will only inform you that some of the items you ordered aren’t available after they are late in delivering the items (e.g. no butter to make the cake you wanted to bake), refund to credit card takes 5-15 days which for me wasn’t worth it that’s why I didn’t cancel, and what hurt the most is that it felt like they don’t care!  If I order from work its a 2 hour delivery, because my area is in mangaf its a far area they don’t care about the 4 hour deadline they set, they don’t care if I didn’t have dinner that evening (hence the toast and eggs and all that) how could you be a service company and be so negligent?

taw9eel

According to their FAQs 45 mins to 2 hours.. I wouldn’t have been upset if they told me it would take 24 hours when I initially ordered, and I would’ve probably cancelled my order or got the essentials for that evening from the grocery store close by. But to say 4 hours and deliver in 25 hours its a disaster. I only wish that management at taw9eel get to read this, I tried to ask for a manager at the call center, they said he will call back no one ever did.. If you care about your business I wish you work on your service levels, whats a delivery company with poor delivery time?

28/Feb/2022 UPDATE:

I’ve recenlty ordered a couple of times from Taw9eel and can say that there is an improvement over the post that I did 7 years ago. I’m still receiving mixed comments, but I would say that there is an improvement in the delivery and overall service over the years.

The MSI GT72 Dominator Pro – Awesome is an understatement

YousefComputers, Product, Review, Technology Leave a Comment

I’ve been using the MSI Dragon 2 laptop ever since I reviewed it for my old blog (7ajidude.com), I couldn’t get over the fact that it was so powerful, a lot faster, and the 17″ display was so large I can use it and never need to use my desktop computer again, I went ahead and bought one!

Last month I was given a chance to try out the new MSI GT72 Dominator Pro – I can easily say the new MSI GT72 is a worthwhile upgrade!

Most noticeable is the great jump in the Scoring of the Laptop which jumped to 8245 from 4638 (MSI Dragon 2), I actually bench marked my Dragon 2  again just to validate the result again.

  • Exclusive Super RAID 3 with 4 SSD RAID0 gives over 1600MB/s reading speed!

SystemPrefs

Nearly all the features are upgrades to the previous features on the MSI Dragon 2 GT70, I felt jealous hehe. the most noticeable upgrades were the NVIDIA GTX980M which doubled the GPU power from my last laptop, also the Local storage jumed from 3 SSDs on SuperRaid 2 to SuperRaid 3 with 4 SSDs giving you reading speeds of over 1600 MB/s, it felt faster and smoother, the sound quality also improved. I actually liked the keyboard on the GT70 more than the one on the GT72, but that’s just a matter of preference, which you will grow to like in the future i guess.

It came with a 6 month license to Xplit Game Caster which allows you to live stream and record your gameplay – perfect for those gamers who like to share their game play online.

Clicking on Fn + F7, you are able to switch between the different modes, and the following will pop-up in the screen to notify you which mode is being selected.

You also get an upgraded system manager, SCM, where you can control all the peripherals, and battery modes using a touch of a button.

MSI SQM

Looking at the two laptops comparatively  :

GT70VSGT72-2

Top MSI GT 72 Bottom MSI GT70 Dragon 2

As you can see, they updated the graphics options now able to run 3 screens at 1080p with Mini Display ports and an HDMI port (TOP: MSI GT72, bottom: MSI Dragon 2 GT70). The power adapter is now also different and the mounting option is placed on one of the sides of the laptop.

From the right and left side a very visible upgrade is the update of all the USB ports to USB 3.0, and their blue accent. We also get a blue ray drive  (writer) on the new GT72 and an additional USB 3.0 on the left, giving us up to 6 USB on the new GT 72, unlike 5 on the GT70.

USB 3.0 ports on the GT 72

Looking at the keyboard, MSI is still utilizing one of the best gaming keyboards out there, SteelSeries keyboards  :

MSI GT72 and Steel Series Keyboard

SteelSeries Keyboard on MSI GT 72

MSIGT70

However, I liked the keyboard on the GT70 a little more than the GT 72, as I felt there was better spacing between the keys, but I guess like all laptops it just takes a matter of time to adjust. The trackpad however, I felt was too big, and would take time to get used to, but can be used within gameplay (unlike the GT70 – where you have to use a mouse).

For the External Looks, the GT 72 is definitely a winner, discrete yet deadly, the brushed aluminum sets it apart from other laptops and the red accents are like the ones you’d find on sports cars !

GT72

Built for the Future:

When I was researching the features, the amount of future proofing they added to the laptop are incredible, its on of the first consumer laptops with a graphics card upgrade feature, so that you would be able to upgrade your GPU card in the future, without having to replace the whole laptop! Incredible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZZ5hGDZpI8

I would definately recommend this laptop to anyone considering purchasing a gaming laptop, my only worry on my old laptop was that I couldn’t upgrade the graphics card and now with the new GT72, you don’t even have to worry about that! The amount of power you will have is unmatchable for a production laptop.

New year in the Deserts of Saudi Arabia

YousefCars, Life, MotorSports, Offroading Leave a Comment

Usually we’d stay at home, watch the fireworks and countdown on TV, but this year we didn’t even notice it was new year. We went on an offroad trip all the way from Kuwait to the deserts and sand dunes of Saudi Arabia, in an area called Om Asher (Mother of Ten). It was about a three to four hour drive, we left the Kuwait through left border (AlSalmi) and headed towards Hafar AlBatin, where we visited a famous outdoor shop called “Kashta” (Arabic for Outing), then a restaurant for dinner (forgot what it was called) but they had nice food, the seating arrangements are partitioned spaces, and you would have a ground setting, then they will bring in your food to you in large trays.

ام عشر

I was driving all the way from Mangaf, and I was alone so I didn’t have a chance to take photographs along the way and was a little too tired when I arrived. Here are some of our photographs from the trip.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”2820,2853,2865,2840″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The sand huge amount of land was truly a nice way to start a year from scratch and a reminder of how simple life is without all the ttechnologyinvolved, I left all my gadgets at home on purpose to make sure I can go there and enjoy the view and amazing weather and that bronze sand. We camped out for about 4 nights, and headed back on the fifth day. The soft sand and large dunes vs 4x4s was an adrenaline rush, i’m in the process of editing a video I shot of the two craziest drivers in the trip hehe, i’ll try to post them on instagram soon. Enjoy the rest of our photos! We also had our share of technical problems but were luck to have the tools we needed to fix most of them on the trip!
