The Mercedes Benz S Class – A Class of Elegance

YousefCars, Mercedes, Review Leave a Comment

s400Benz

I had the chance to review the S400 a Couple of weeks ago, It left me speechless whether it was in terms of looks, the interior, the AC, the handling and acceleration and the attention to detail.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3254″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The first thing that will grab your attention is the display. The car i was reviewing wasn’t loaded with all the options yet it was impressive to my senses. The cockpit, screamed technology and innovation as well as modernness. I don’t understand how they came up with the idea  of individual vent control but it was amazing!!!
[shashin type=”photo” id=”3255″ size=”max” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”] You can simply turn a knob on a specific vent to adjust the amount of air coming out of that vent, and made you feel in control of your own comfort. The AC itself was an amazing piece of engineering and was satisfying for both the front and rear passenger seating areas. The rear passengers even had split controls on what sort of temperature they wanted.
[shashin type=”photo” id=”3250,3249″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center” crop=”y”]

Both the front and rear seats were quite comfortable however the review model I had didn’t have any rear seat adjustment controls and you definitely should have those when you get your S-Class. I loved the fact that when you close the rear and side curtains (all via a touch of a button) you feel you’re in your own command center isolated from the sun, with the AC to your liking and spacious leg room.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3243″ size=”max” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center” crop=”y”]

The look of luxury and sophistication combined with elegance and technology.

Night View S400

The Turbocharged V6 powers this car sufficiently however I would have to try the s550 to give my opinion on that aspect. The S400 has a starting price of around 33,390 KWD (at the time of writing) but that can increase depending on the options and the exterior package chosen.

Here are some extra shots of the S400 for your viewing :

PART 1 : How to Receive Payments Online for small businesses in Kuwait!

YousefApplications, Banking, Kuwait, Review 1 Comment

Ever wished you can get payments online straight to your back account in Kuwait? (Something like paypal which we can use) I’m sure it affects a lot of people out there, especially when it comes to collecting payments for you small home business. Today i’m showcasing the first business that allow you to charge for your small business via online payments through their Knet gateways

 1. Gotapnow

GoTapNow

When my friend Nasser told me about it I remembered the annoying messages I kept getting to settle my phone bills, I never thought It was for small businesses. However I did check them out and subscribed to their services today :

gotap2

Nice things about Gotapnow :

  • Nice modern interface
  • Very fast activation of business account
  • We have heard about it for mobile payments (people wont say what is this link or that it might be a scam)
  • Customization options in the personal area, will represent you more as a business, and this will make customer less reluctant to pay through the medium, as well as the option of adding inventory to your account which is another advantage.
  • Mobile Store option (you can add products and services)
  • Has sales analytic s and a customer’s view
  • You can use your balance to pay for other products and services
  • Their App can automatically calculate the delivery options based on the location.

Downsides :

  • Transaction fees are higher than their competitors (taajr.com in this case) in which they charged a fixed 100 fils per transaction + 4.45%, which is ok for small businesses i presume.
  • When editing the profile I was asked to enter the password in plain text, which is a big no-no security wise, might need to check up on some of the bugs there, however overall nice build quality of the app. Another issue when trying to update the profile photo when it says upload complete, but the photo is still not uploaded (apparently its not shown on the website).
  • Because its used for bulk message mobile payments, usually the emails you receive from gotapnow would be in your email’s SPAM folder which isn’t where you would like your customers to receive their invoices/payment claims.
  • Using the phone to photograph the Civil ID will result in an error and you have to take a photo of your ID and upload it to be able to subscribe to Gotapnow
  • i’m not sure how to say it, is it Got-Ap-Now, Go-Tap-Now ? ? ? Is it just me ??
  • Privacy, terms of service, support links are all not there.. Or at least I tried to find them but couldn’t.
  • Doesn’t mention how you can get your money back.
  • Requires some thorough documentation.

I’m still to receive my first payments through their app therefore i’ll add some more information when I get the payments done. Make sure to visit my humble online Vinyl decals business Decalz and #CustomizeYourLife.

Reviewing The Mercedes Benz G500

YousefCars, Mercedes, Review Leave a Comment

TheG500

Before reviewing this car a couple of weeks back I had mixed feelings regarding the G500, I know about it what I heard about it, but never actually drove it my self.  It gave me mixed feelings, my first impressions were that I didn’t like how the doors opened or how you really have to push the door to get it shut and the clunk sound of the door when closing. I didn’t understand it at first, but later it grew on me! It was one of those cars that you love more the more you drive it !

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3183″ size=”max” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The exterior of the G500 is nearly identical to the first commercial models and similar if not for face lifts offered throughout the years. The V8 was more than sufficient to carry the  G Wagon and give it a boost when you put your foot down! It made you feel in total control all the time!

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3210″ size=”max” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The interior is where the most improvements took place, a couple of my friends had previous versions and told me it was a harsh ride and dull interior, when they tried the 2015 model, they loved it! The ride quality wasn’t at all harsh, on the contrary it was a just right not too soft and not to hard.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3213,3218″ size=”medium” columns=”2″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The drive quality and dimensions of the car were incredibly impressive and there was no learning curve to get acquainted with the car’s dimensions!

The seats were so adjustable it was like they made a driver’s seat with a chiropractor on the team. If you don’t feel comfortable it means you just haven’t tried to adjust the seats enough.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3207,3208,3212,3206,3218,3209″ size=”small” columns=”3″ order=”user” position=”center” crop=”y”]

The interior was luxurious, although I expected more gadgets in this beast, it lacked the front camera (which can be used when offroading), and the rear camera in my opinion has a very poor vantage point and should be placed somewhere closer to the bumper/spare tyre cover as the view is just not worth having a rear view camera. The other major downside is the amount of reflection you get inside the car windows because they are so straight, so when you are driving at night you would see the reflections of the car lights on the right on the left driver window!

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3202″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The sound system on the car I tried was powered by Harmon Kardon, crisp, impressive sound for the boxed shape of the interior.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3208,3235″ size=”medium” columns=”2″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The rear leg room is ok, I don’t know why they couldn’t make the huge boot area a little shorter and added 10-15 cm leg room to the rear passengers which would’ve given them more space to be able to sit a little more comfortably. The AC overall was good, but on the days when the temperature hit 50 degrees Celsius you really should have tinted windows to reduce the radiated heat from outside.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3221″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

Cup holders ?? There’s one hanging cup holder, and two in the glove compartment, otherwise if you tend to use cup holders a lot you will be very disappointed!

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3193″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The G Class has gained a high popularity in the region the past couple of years, the reason is that when you drive it, it grows on you. The howling of the exhaust, the powerful engine, the mean looks that send out a statement! I liked it more and more every time I drove it and to be honest for a while I really considered getting one, one day.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”3190″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The G500 Offroad :[shashin type=”photo” id=”3215″ size=”max” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]

The G-Wagon was made for the military and the chassis, engine, multiple differential locking mechanism all scream for you to take it offroad. Those who had the guts to take this 100 K USD beast offroad where nothing but impressed at the umph and power this beast has when tackling the soft sands or the harsh rocks. This time I wasn’t able to take it offroad, it was still Ramadan, the temperatures were +47 degrees celsius and I was fasting, let alone the dusty weather we had that weekend when I had the car. I’m totally sure I would’ve been impressed and would definitely ask Mercedes to try it out in the winter and see how it handles in the desert compared to my trusty FJ cruiser.

Overall, if I didn’t have any monetary commitments, I would definitely consider getting one with no hesitation, if you don’t think you’ll like it, drive it first then judge for yourself!

The G500 with the Designo package and Harmon Kardon Surround starts at a price range of (price as of 22 JUL 2015) of about 39,900 KWD.

For more information on the G Class, kindly visit Mercedes Benz Website Here.

If you want to see more of the G500 then have a look at the following album  :

Movie Review : Terminator Genisys

YousefMOVIE, Movies, Review Leave a Comment

Terminator Genysis Poster

This review contains spoilers from the third paragraph onwards.

I didn’t intend to go to the cinema that day at all, I didn’t know it was open yet (Grand Cinema Gate Mall), + it was did and i wasn’t sure that we would get tickets as you know usually tickets are sold out during eld. However, we took the kids to the play area in Gate mall with their Nanny and we dropped them off at the enclosed play area which they usually tend to spend 3 hours in. So we took off to a cafe (Tim Hortons) is my usual choice, and to our amazement, the cinema was open (took a long time for it to open up).

Grand Cinema Gate Mall Experience :
The Cinema was quite interesting, we booked tickets in the VIP area, we stopped going to movies for quite some time dude to our work schedules and not many movies that were child friendly, but this time it was our time and the timing was just right to book the VIP. The tickets cost 10 KD each which came with water and a large popcorn (served inside the Cinema). The seating was quite comfortable and the leather seats smelled like what a new car, which was also nice hehe. The 3D was quite good too, usually it would stay annoying for the duration, but this screen after 20 mins you’d wonder how you watched movies before + you get new glasses so they’re not used before/scratched.

e

He was back with a bang in this movie (Arnold) stared in more than 2/3 of the movie, it was like a time machine (literally), it went back and forth from different time zones which corresponded to different terminator sequels. It was quite an interesting transition. It was an interesting watch, it was hard to anticipate what would happen next, I did feel they could’ve added more action into it, it was a little too short (in my own opinion) but overall it was a great movie and I would highly recommend it. Do you have to watch the previous versions first ? Well yes and no, it would help to understand the stories better and to understand the shifts in time.

Again the 3D version was also a nice addition (i didn’t know I booked the 3D version until we were in), as I usually wouldn’t book 3D movies as my wife gets headaches when watching them. But this was ok.

I would rate this movie as an overall 8/10 and would recommend watching it!

Wishing you a Eid Mubarak

Restoring My old posts from @7ajidude

YousefAnnouncements Leave a Comment

I’m currently in the process of restoring some of my old posts from the old blog that i was in (7ajidude.com). Therefore I apologise if some of the older posts (before 2014) might have some missing images, as I’m in the process of migrating the rest of the data that I can get my hand’s on as well as all the photos. My old posts will be under the nickname (dude) and you might see some older watermarks on the images stating (7ajidude.com). Having them on its965 will mean I wont loose some of my favourite posts, and i’ll try as much as possible to get everything up to date as soon as I can. Have a pleasant day!

BTW: for those of you who are interested, I tried multiple export and import methodologies and I missed out on an important point! Don’t settle for EXPORT only from your old blog, on the contrary have a full backup stored somewhere as you might need to put up a temp local website to extract some of your images and files from! I unfortunately had the misfortune of misplacing the backup, so also storing it on the cloud would be a good (if the size permits). For importing you can use the “Import” Option under tools, and import all your old posts there, also make sure your old site and new site are both online if you want to import the attachments automatically.
