I’m sorry for any inconvenience, i’m currently in the process of migrating my host, it might take up to another 48 hours for the blog to return to 100% working state.
Have a nice day!
Update 14/1/2016 :
Done with the website migration.. Thank you for your patience. Hopefully this upgrade will get me up to speed as I migrated to a more stable hosting platform. I will try my best to improve my posting frequency as I tend to have time but loose focus quite quickly and move from one thing to another. Planning to get back to the reason I started blogging in the first place, to share knowledge, review products and services as well as providing something useful to society.
I’m into DIY, and i’ll try to write more on that, and some of the tools I use.
After quite some time off blogging, there’s no better way to get back except with a strong subject, and this post is about the Readiness of the Jaber International Stadium in Kuwait and the Kuwait Champions Challenge Celebration that will take place, after years of structural issues and the question if it would ever be ready, Friday the 18th of December will host a Celebratory Challenge, between a select number of International players and Local Kuwaiti players!
We had the privilege of being invited by Sheikh Mohammed AlAbdullah AlSabah – Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and were given a tour of the premises. My first impression left me speechless due to the huge structure and architectural masterpiece that I saw. The level of advancement in terms of the technology used in the Stadium and Camera system, screens and goal systems was also very impressive!
The Event being held would be the largest entertainment and sports event of its kind taking place in Kuwait, bringing together Kuwait’s all-star players and the Football Champions Tour on Friday December 18, 2015 in the prestigious Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in the State of Kuwait. Yesterday I received an update message on my Note 10.1 (2014 Edition). I got the tablet back in October 2013 when I was in the States, and always loved it, however in the past couple of months you’d feel that the device was not being able to perform as smooth as my other devices, and so was a little neglected, and basically used as a remote for my samsung Tv.
However, downloading the new update changed how I felt about it, although a little large in size (Update around 950 mb) and requires at least 4GB available memory, I ended up formatting my Samsung after installing the update as it just froze!
Now its got the Lollipop 5.1.1 update, I sure hope they maintain the update pace, and even better send us out a new Note 10.1 device with better hardware.. We’re ready for it!
I’ve been using mail forwarders since 2003, starting with Aramex, then Borderlinx and settled with using MyUs in the end (which i’m still using), however Amazon now have entered that market and are allowing global shipments at very good rates. What would usually cost at least $45 at myUS to ship Kuwait is according to Amazon global going to cost a mere $18.18.
Here’s an example of something I was thinking of getting:
As you can see, it states $18.18 shipping and import fee deposit (which you will get refunded if was less than the estimate) to kuwait.
When I took the item dimensions and used the MyUs calculator :
With MyUs the minimum shipping cost to Kuwait was $ 38.86 thats excluding the customs fees which you have to pay.
In order for you to ship to Kuwait, you have to add and select to ship to the Kuwaiti Address in your amazon shipping address book.
Time to try Amazon Global Shipping. I’ll update you when I receive a shipment from them, perhaps i’ll try something cheaper first hehehe..
Last month I had a chance to try out the new Mercedes Benz GLA 250, the car reminded me a lot of the A250 in terms of performance, but being a crossover made it a lot more suitable for our road conditions and general driving atmosphere in Kuwait.
The GLA is powered by a 1991 cc Turbo Charged engine that produces 211 HP with an active 4Matic all wheel drive system. Its also equipped with Active parking assist and offroad comfort suspension. The power it produced was quite impressive and when the turbo kicked it would literally feel like you were about to take off, it shocked me the way it took off the first time.
The interior was very modernistic in styling, although it was a small car it was quite spacious and had a spacious rear boot area, the kids loved the rear and with the panoramic roof, it made it seem even more spacious.
Unfortunately it was a little too warm to try it out in the desert back then, but I was promised it would’ve been be an amazing experience.
The only disadvantage or things you have to get used to is that the view angle was too small, as both the front and rear windows were small in size, but its something that you would get used to pretty fast, and that there was some wind noise at high speeds, which you usually wouldn’t expect, but being a crossover and with small roof rails, I guess it was a must.
Overall It was an impressive ride, and as I said earlier for the state our roads are in at the moment, its the perfect fit, its not too high or too low, and doesn’t underperform. Again the AC was very good as with almost every Mercedes I’ve driven lately.
The GLA Crossover is at the 14500 KWD price range, and is available from Mercedes Benz Kuwait – Abdul Rahman Albisher & Zaid Alkazemi Co. for more information you can visit their website or call them at 1833-111.
Apple just released it’s new upgrades to the iMac and Magic Accessories range, with great news to those thinking of buying an iMac.
Now all the 27″ Models come with the 5K Retina display as a standard option and the 21″ Model with a 4K display with only a $400 premium. The most important point to take note of is the fact that the 21″ Models do not have up-gradable RAM, which in turn will mean you have to buy as much RAM as you can when you purchase the device. However, OWC have announced that they took the 27″ up to 64 GBs of RAM (as it comes with 4 slots which can hold 16GBs each) and have am option for you to upgrade youre iMac’s RAM.
For more information on the RAM upgrades provided by OWC check out the following link.
Apparently when you pull out all your money from a Bank account, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have acquitted yourself from any of their hidden charges, SMS fees, credit card renewals. A friend transferred money to my old bank account at NBK by mistake and the bank simply put a hold on 20 KD for no (Clear) reason, they say it might be SMS fees or Credit card fees. It had Zero balance for over 6 months now, and when I asked them last time, they said it would be OK to keep it that way, not mentioning that it will incur negative charges!!! Any way i’ll be waiting to hear from the bank today. But a word of advise, anyone with accounts that aren’t being used should visit the bank and create an official draft to the bank that they wish that all their account are closed at the bank, even the ones with Zero balance. The same thing happened with my old KFH account, but they clearly stated that 10 KD was for SMS fees which were always clearly communicated! Customer representatives always tell you to visit the main branch, but you can simply create a draft at the bank and request that your account be closed!
Do you currently have a Microsoft 365 Account with a valid subscription and want to update to Office 2016 instead of 2013. Since it did get a little confusing for me at first I decided to share the following steps to make your life easier!
Enter Accounts and choose install as shown below :
After install select the computer you would like to download the software to and choose install. If you wanted the 64-bit version, all you have to do is select additional options and languages and choose the language then 64-bit version.
I don’t know how I missed news of this security Vulnerability, I guess i’m not really digging into the web like I used to before. Although many of you might know this already I decided to write about it here just in case.
Apparently there’s a security flaw/bug that allows attackers to exploit a flow in the MMS messaging that will give attackers the ability to read the phone’s directories. An example of this is shown the following video :
To be able to successfully protect yourself from the vulnerability you have to ensure that you update your device to the latest firmware and make sure that you have the latest software updates to your handset. Truth be told, not all manufacturers will update their phones in the same time and you might find updates rolling out soon enough. Therefor if your phone is still vulnerable after the updates, continue reading on!
To identify if you’re phone is vulnerable all you have to do is download an app (created by the guys that discovered the actual bug/vulnerability) and it will simply show if your phone is affected or not.
