My Toy hosting an Off-road RC event this Thursday!
This weekend MyToy are hosting an RC offroad competition in their venue at AlTilal Complex in Shuwaikh. I went over last week and took some photos of some of the guys that were practicing.
This first image shows the off-road track they’ve set up, its the same as their drifting track but modified to include jumps and sharp turns.

The New Alienware M14X is out and its armed with so much I had to order one 馃榾
For some time now i’ve been preparing my desktop for gaming, kinda something similar to what 7aji is using. I’ve got everything set up the only thing i needed was a graphics card and a case to accomodate it 馃榾
But then a couple of days ago I sold my 13 Inch macbook to a friend and i’m only left with a 9inch Acer i used to use when i’m on the move or travelling abroad. So I decided here and there that i needed a laptop.
fortunately聽for me the M14x was just announced and managed to order one online.. The only bad news is it takes a month to get built and sent to you 馃檨 .

One interesting feature on the M14x is the wireless HD broadcasting ability to a Unit which you connect to the back of your HD capable TV. I’m not sure i’m going to use this a lot but it sure might get in handy, the wireless HD kit ships separatley and should arrive anytime next week. Its the laptop I can’t wait to get in my hands, oh well its only around 35 days away :s

Who thought video games would cause your credit card info to be set out there
This is a very unfortunate event and it really makes you wonder how much information you can give. I never thought something wrong would happen. I recieved this email from the playstation network :
“Although we are still investigating the details of this incident,
we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following
information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country,
email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login,
and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data,
including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip),
and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may
have been obtained.”
This is a huge issue! The PSN network is down for security evaluation and our credit card information could be out there. Its still not 100% clear who hacked the PSN network. I dont know what to say good job (PSN shouldn’t have had聽venerabilities聽and should’ve routinely evaluated their network security) or please dont give out our info :s.

Now about the event :
Viva had its’ first social media event held at Chocolate & macaron in the Avenues Phase II, Great people, Great venue and great food.
We had a chance to meet other bloggers in Kuwait (Mark from 248am, p0Ach, Kuwait Black Market, 360 Dewan, HisHersq8, Q8dewaniya,聽bananaQ8 –sorry if i forgot anyone) which was pretty cool, Its the first time i personally attended a Social media event usually one of my colleagues does, from now on i’ll make sure i go 馃槢 I loved the way people in Viva met and greeted us, felt like i knew most of the people there but it was actually my first time to meet most of them!
Points that were discussed :
- Viva launches Iphone 4 (officially from Apple) tomorrow throughout all its branches
- Staff are trained to handle queries regarding iPhone devices
- Handsets will be pre-configured, meaning Viva Customers won’t need to configure MMS and GPRS or voicemail settings for their new iphones.
- Devices are not carrier locked and can be used with any carrier in Kuwait or Abroad.
- Viva promises to be the first in Kuwait in providing 聽future iPhone launches.

Windows Explorer 9 – Seems promising!
At last i might just as well get back to use windows internet explorer, I’ve been using google chrome for as long as it was out, i loved the speed, the addons and everything google. IE8 was so heavy, slow and killed your PC due to taking so much resources. However, i’m pleased to say, after i installed it and restarted my PC I didn’t quite antisipate much, but i was mistaking!
1. Everything seems faster, the loading time, the browsing, the searching, how the tabs are, the semi-full screen browsing mode (loved this!).
2. It made me forget how much I hated IE8 and get over it pretty fast 馃榾
I’m going to extensively test it and use only this browser for a week and get back to you! Will be glad to hear your comments on it too!.

A Note to microsoft :聽 If you want your launched product to gain popularity after the failure from IE8, 聽you could utilize the social media channels more effectively! I ahd a hard time loking for a video on youtube for the IE9 product vids, there’s no “tell people about it”, were’ in 2011 and you’re not utilizing the fact that people listen to other people, especially when it comes to getting a better experience on a product and service. Beleive me it would be a lot easier if we can just forward an youtube link around on facebook and it would make a great impact!

The other day i was buying聽diapers for my son and I noticed something somewhat nice from Pampers.
For each bag of pampers bought, pampers donates enough to vaccinate a pregnant woman in developing countries to reduce or eliminate the risk of the baby obtaining life聽threating聽diseases.

Movie Review : Source Code (2011)
Hmm, I don’t really know where to start with this one :D.
The story line:聽An action thriller centered on a soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown man and discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train.
In two words : GREAT MOVIE, went to 360, great cinema, very cool movie, movie length was suitable for the material, i would highly recommend it. Here’s the trailor :
