Sigma Announced they will be shipping their SD1 Next month!  Why $9700 ? Read on..

The Sigma SD1 features a 46 megapixel 24×16mm APS-C X3 direct image sensor, plus a lightweight body made from magnesium alloy. It was unveiled last year in the Photokina trade show. The camera is said to provide photographers with a new segment in professional cameras, providing higher mega pixels than the 21.1 Canon 1D Mark III and the 24.5-megapixel Nikon D3x. The SD1’s sensor has resolution of 4,800×3,200 pixels for 15.4 megapixels total–but that’s without any interpolation.

Prices of New Charger and their stuck up sales agent!

A couple of days ago I went to the dodge/chrysler showroom in kuwait. Took a look at their new Charger, I had to go see it after watching Fast Five!

One comment though about the sales agent. He had an attitude problem, I went in with a camera to give your car free publicity and his attitude sucked big time. It was like i was asking him to give me the car for free. Chrysler really chould look into customer service alot better. I used to know a bold guy in that showroom and i swear he would let you take your time and help you out as much as you would imagine (Best sales person ever at chrysler!).  But that day he wasn’t there, a tall guy “lets call him H.” sat on the table didn’t even move an inch, looked at me with his nose stuck up so much I was seconds away from making a big deal out of it. ok.. Go ahead take photos, and then i explained to him i was a blog and this is free publicity for your product, still the stuck up attitude. To bad i was out of business cards, i wanted to see would he change his attitude if he knew where I worked or what I did for a living.

 

People see you with a camera they instinctively think your from a magazine or newspaper. Do I have to show my business card to get their respect ? Do i have to wear a dishdashah and Gitra ? I’m sure Chrysler be loosing a lot of customers if this guy isn’t talked to. I swear if i was going to buy a chrysler and he was my sales person I would’ve cancelled no question asked since the showroom is the number 1 touchpoint between the customer and the company! Good thing i met good people at chrysler’s and their reputation for me is unharmed!

Bye Bye NBK, hello Islamic Banking System

I’ve been thinking about moving my finances (chinna 3inde wayed :P) to an islamic bank and migrating from the one i’m currently in. Although i love the service I get from NBK Everything with them is easy and professional, is easy to get financing, easy to contact the people there. But unfortunately for me i’m heading into the keep your money islamic banking systems mode.
What triggered this ? My Visa card is about to expire on 7/11, so about a week ago exaclty i guy from NBK calls me up saying your card is expiring would you like us to renew it for you, ofcourse he was like renewal is free and this is to make sure you don’t get stuck with an expired card! I was going to stay with NBK as long as my Visa was with them, it was kind of one of the only reasons for me to still be with NBK.

 

What happened next ? I waited five days and got my card, the card number was changed, it was a new card, but the Expiry Date was still the same !!!!!
So I called up their contact center, and they were like you have to go to the card dept. and get it sorted its not possible to sort this out on the phone. My next response was simply please cancel my credit card. Thank you i’ll be moving out of NBK! But you have a couple of extra KD’s in your balance i’ll put in a transfer request and then you call back again for a cancellation request.
So I though why not. I called them up today again to cancel my Visa card. They said ok, can you please tell us why I said, wanted to move to an islamic bank. So.. Time to discover my options. I’ll be starting  a transfer request after this month’s salary just to ensure nothing goes wrong hehe..  Some say they will make it as impossible as ever to transfer from one bank, i guess i’ll have to wait and see..

Which Islamic bank do you recommend ?

A Visa or Mastercard is a must for me, especially when I travel, I use Amex for emergencies, but the only problem with it, is that in the ME its not an authorized type of payment everywhere, and can leave you hanging sometimes!

How’s Your internet Connection?

I had a clear aim, which was to get a Viva Data line after my laptop arrives (for downloading loads and loads :P) . But ever since their 2 GB/day limit i kinda lost interest.  Currently i’m using my 21 mbps connection from zain and I have a Fast Telco internet connection at home. It should be 2 upto 6 mbps but the max I can get due to my poor phone  line quality is 3.5 Mbps, but even that isn’t satisfying, i Keep on feeling that i’m not getting enough speed. I love my zain connection (in specific areas)  the max i got was around 12 Mbps but it was like 8 AM, somewhere.  Currently i’m getting around 5 Mbps downloading EVE. (I just watched the trailer and decided to try it out :P)

 

Do you have any recommendations  ? I need bandwidth, i need speed and I need it now 😛

Iphone 4.3.3 Jailbreak Available !

A friend of mine was reading zhgaan’s Blog, and he mensionined that there was a Jailbreak avaiable for 4.3.3 ! That means I don’t have to carry about my Mifi all the time :P..

 

Not that i’m with Jailbreaking, i’m not against it. I’m Pro-Open source I love Cydia, I don’t fully support installous, I buy most of the applications that i use on a daily basis, since i support developers!

However I love customizing my Iphone, I started to hate listening to all the default themes from Iphones all around me 😛 So guys.. I can’t say how to upgrade or jailbreak exaclty but check out the following links I found online :P! (PS: Works with redsnow and pwnage tool)

The Exporting Talent Factory – Kuwait

I didn’t know we had such great Kuwaiti workshops in Kuwait, especially one’s with State of the art CNC Machinery and 3D Laser scanning! They produce everything from artwork to special product designs and prototypes that can only be done using advanced CNC machines.  Their artifacts can be used everywhere both residentially and commercially in offices and hotels, and will really set you apart in terms of unique artifacts. 7aji and I paid them a visit a couple of weeks back, and we were really impressed with the Kuwaiti Talent that worked hand by hand to produce beautiful master pieces. Its not everyday that you see people changing their hobby into a business and experiment with Ideas, and new machinery (first in Kuwait) to produce the artwork that they produce. We really wish them all the best !
