I had the unfortunate luck of a Samsung S4’s Screen gone bad syndrome. Apparently everything works but the screen i can unlock the phone, connect to it via USB, receive calls (without knowing who’s calling) however, I tried everything and the screen won’t start up!
So I decided to go to the Warranty provider’s workshop. Apparently they’re super cool (for employees) working ours meant that there was no chance on earth you could visit them on a weekend as they work from 10 – 5! (Very inconvenient for consumers in my opinion)
The first thing that irritated me is that I went in, greeted them stood for like 7 minutes and the guys at the counter didn’t even look at me or ask me to have a seat, as there was another guy that came before me that was actually sitting down and waiting for his turn. Very very very unprofessional of them (in my opinion).
The thing that really got me upset was the fact that the technical guy there tried to figure out if I dropped it or not and was trying to convince me that there is a gap between the screen and the actual chassis of the phone, and that might be the problem!! I argued with them on whether the phone might have come like this from the first place, as I’ve had it in a protective cover ever since day one and it’s only been 14 days! What I saw was more than 3 people complaining about the S4’s screen from this individual company, my wife has one which I bought her from Zain, she dropped it quite a couple of times, but it still works and there aren’t any issues with the screen.
I still didn’t get their feedback regarding their investigation on the cause of the screen’s blackout, but trying to find gaps that aren’t there between the screen and the chassis that occurred because of a drop that never happened really got me thinking.
I think this is the last time, i’ll probably buy something that didn’t come from a more trusted vendor, and I’d recommend you do the same too!
Also note, that if you ever bought a phone from a shop or dealer or wherever, that the invoice clearly states the type of warranty. I asked the seller to clearly write on the invoice that the device’s hardware and software are both covered under warranty! The employee at the desk told me if your invoice didn’t clearly state it we wouldn’t have accepted to take it. So make sure your invoice clearly states Hardware and software Warranty and the name of the workshop.
One of the best and probably biggest private corporate launch events took place on the 9th of June in Kuwait’s Ice Skating Rink. Alghanim Motors celebrated their new partnership with Honda Motors Corporation in a multicultural extravaganza.

Presenting the show was Talal al Yaqoot (and a female presenter whom i can’t remember the name of :/)

The Show started off with a performance by the Maa’youf Majli Band :

Then moved on to a performance by the Japanese Taiko Band
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGWF31VexOQ
Then we had a great Bahry/Taiko Remix
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIiBvH6f7ug
We had a great presentation from the Honda Robotics Team with their Robot Asimo, which is a second generation prototype.

There was also a visual symphony show in the middle and at The end, a performance done by non other than : Hussain AlJasmi

It was a great evening, special thanks to Alghanim for their invitations and a special thanks to the organizers, it was a huge event but the organization was incredible, the number of people that were there was huge, but the entrances were professionally segregated and that made life a lot easier and organized.

Passed by Fox Racing mega store in Al Tilal yesterday and boy was I amazed at the stuff they had. Huge collection of Fox Racing, DC and Alpine Stars, accessories and shoes, they also sold the Hyosung Motorcycle brands (Korean made, very well priced). Prices all in all were close to what you get online + the shipping, but atleast here you can actually try them on and feel the fabric.

Here’s where they are located, in the second floor in AlTilal complex, when you park inside, they are in the highlighted corner.
We were given the opportunity to try out the new X-Change Cards from Burgan Bank. Basically they are pre-paid Mastercards but the money in the card is in a specific currency.

Simply, if you choose to get a US Prepaid X-Change Card it will be pre-filled with a specific amount you choose, e.g. 100 USD, and that amount will remain as 100 USD no matter how much the USD goes up or down, i.e. it will stay as the same amount as you initially put in.
The X-Change Card is available in a number of Currencies including:
Where can you use it?You can use it anywhere that has the MasterCard Logo – its a full mastercard card, you can also use it to withdraw the Cash amount that you prefilled in the first place. Could be great to use if you plan to go on a shopping bonanza in Dubai, refill it with ‘X’ amount and leave all you other credit cards at the hotel as to know if you exceeded your limit or not. That’s where it can sometimes be better than the normal credit card, you won’t spend what you don’t have 😉

Another great advantage of this card is for parents who would like to be able to simply put money in the accounts of their children studying abroad, or for expats to be able to easily send money back home without the hassle of going to a money exchange or Western Union Outlet, you can simply login and put money in the account via knet. (only difficulty is actually sending the card over – has to be done before).

I tried it on Amazon and it worked fine! Took me quite some time to find something that I would buy hehe.
Visit : https://cards.burgan.com/xchange
Click on “Order a Card”
You’ll have to enter the following details :

Prices of the X-Change Card
Funds would be added in the exchange rate of that day. I did a comparison between Burgan, and Google and it turned out to be relatively fair as shown here:

When you come to pay there will be an additional 1 KD refill charge fee.

With Burgan’s X-Change Card you also get a free Premium Subscription from MyUS, one of the leading and more professional mailbox forwarders which give you a US address saving you around 127 USD.
Their Website is accessible through : http://myus.com/burgan

To check, I was successfully able to join and I placed my first order through myUs.com using amazon and a Burgan USD X-Change card!

Me and 7aji really got hooked up to kayaking, enough to wake up at 6 AM in the morning and head out to sea with our Kayaks. the first time was the most painful time, but now every week we try something different. Last week it was so windy, paddling against the current made us feel we were rafting and not simply kayaking, and every week we try to break the distance barrier of last week and travel even further.

Last week we also tried a different transportation method where we didn’t use 7aji brother’s pick up, instead 7aji ordered Thule kayak mounts, and I used quite a primitive method Hoists and pull-down attachments I bought from The sultan Center. The results were satisfying and we were able to transfer our kayaks safely. The Challenge was getting them up our cars alone, just incase one of us couldn’t make it.
