Cable Management Tips Anyone?

I’ve been having this issue for quite some time,  even when I tidy everything up i still end up having a large number of plugs i need to provide electricity for.  Do you have any solutions?

I need something that will be able to cater for 20 plugs – not all of them will be active at the same time and they don’t draw a large current – nearly all are computer-related. At work

I’ve been using the electricity track from Eubiq but it tends to take up a large space and has to be fixed to the wall or desk, plus each socked costs around 6 KD. and the track alone costs around 23 KD, still looking for a cheaper alternative.

The Ultimate HDD Docking Station

I have a couple of older hard disks lying around, instead of buying a case for each and every one I decided to buy something that will allow me to connect more than one hard disk at once, + its USB 3.0 compatible and allows you to connect 2.5″ HDDs and 3.5″ HDDs.

Meet the Startech HDD Adapter

Startech adapter Startech2

It Comes with a Built in Fan and a Fan controller that will cool down the hard disks, as well as individual on-off switches for the hard disks which make life easier than removing and installing the drives. Great tool for backing up you computer to multiple hard disks, all of our lives and memories are stored digitally, one bad hard disk can cost you priceless memories! Do beware, the box is quite big and ordering it online might cost you a lot more due to the shipping size and weight of this item.

SPIGENify your Samsung Galaxy S4

DudeReview, Technology, Telecomm Leave a Comment

Its really difficult to find that protective cover that won’t make your handset larger or bulkier, or make it look cheap. I’ve seen cool models from Spigen with a friend at work, but it was a little too expensive to buy online (taking into account the shipping price). I was at Olympia Mall with my wife and daughter when I passed by Cavaraty’s Store. I had a look around and weighed my options, and decided to get the Spigen NEO Hybrid low profile bumper and case and the Spigen Crystal Glass protection.

First up is the SPIGEN NEO Hybrid

SPIGEN Website Link : http://www.spigen.com/galaxy-s4-case-neo-hybrid.html

Great Case, comprises of two parts that attach firmly to the handset providing a unique feel.

Next up was the Spigen Glastr Slim for the S4

Spigen Website link here. (Apparently there is a new thinner model Slim nano)

Here’s the phone without any form of protection (Removed the old Buff Ultimate Protection sticker) – So many fake Buff products in the market you don’t know which is genuine product).

Here’s the phone with both the Spigen Bumper Case and Glass t screen protector.

It looks a lot better the case doesn’t push on the screen protector, I had a few bubbles that I might have to live with :/ but the touch sensitivity, the quality of the picture is unbeatable, I’ve used a lot of screen protectors and most of them will cause a degradation in the image quality, but this remains crystal clear and it doesn’t feel you have a screen protector on in the first place! Great Product from Spigen!!! The Spigen cover also comes with a back screen protector for the phone which I applied and it really felt like it was made of high quality materials.

How much did it cost?

i got both items for 20 KD at Cavaraty’s store in Olympia, i highly recommend the Spigen products, do take care when installing them, as a small lint will leave a bubble. The main downside of the case is that when the phone is lying on its back the case mutes the speaker because it doesn’t have a curve next to the speaker where samsung have created a dent on the back of the device so that the sound won’t be muted when placed flat on a table, but it’s not an extreme show stopper for me and I bought it!

You can get them from Cavaraty at the following links :

I passed by the Missoni Hotel a couple of days ago to have a look at the new Hotel, and have a look at what it has to offer its guests as well as all the different rooms and facilities that they have.

We Started off in the entrance of the hotel which was decorated with two huge beautiful mosaic  vases :

This  is a picture of the entrance from the Symphony Mall’s side:

Here is a picture of the artistic decor in the main lobby :

After the lobby we went up to the Business lounge area and main event hall, unfortunately the main event hall was engaged for an event.

Here’s the main business lounge areas which has a couple of computer terminals all connected to the internet, and a small seating area

Here’s the main conference room of the hotel, with all the latest business ammenities required.

Next We went up to have a look at the rooms:

We had a look at 3 different rooms:

First off the basic room, beautiful modern and colorful, the color pallete used in this room gives you a sense of energy and relaxation, amazing simple designs that as we say in Arabic “tred elroo7” – revitalises the soul.

Even the restroom is modernistic and colorful, all of the restrooms come with a bathtub (no jacuzzi unfortunately 🙁  )

Ofcourse you have this amazing view from every single bedroom in Hotel Missoni as all the bedrooms are seeside views of the gulf! Amazing!

Next up is the mid and larger rooms avaialable at hotel Missoni:

Again beautiful interior design and to top things up Bang and Olufsen Technology

This is the larger room setup, which contains a dining area and separate sleeping quarters as well as 2 bathrooms 1 inside and the other one a guest bathroom.  Very spacious filled with light.

Next, we visited the hotel’s International Cuisine ‘Luna’ Located on the Top 18th Floor of the Missoni Hotel, this resteraunt is on a league of its own in terms of its decor and view, makes you feel like you’re in another country.

Again, a beautiful View of the Gulf of Kuwait

This was an amazing photo I wanted to share with our readers of the view in the Kitchen of ‘Luna’s resteraunt, amazing view, I expect it would look even more amazing at night!

Make sure to check out Our blog in the Coming days, and check out or continuation post on the Marvelous Six Senses Spa, which is located in Missoni Hotel Kuwait!

A special thank you for Miss Reem AlGhanim from Hotel Missoni and all the great Hotel Missoni staff for her great tour and Hospitality!

Coming Soon New 4GLte Hotspot from Zain

DudeAnnouncements, Education, General, Internet, Kuwait, Sneak Peak, Social Media, Technology, Telecomm 2 Comments

Just got my hands on the New 4GLTe Hotspot from Zain which is to be released pretty soon!

Cool Futuristic design, and easy on and off operation. To Switch it on simply push the top part of the device back and it’s on!

SG4

The right side of the device contains a MicroUSB adapter and a slot for an antenna.

SG5

The left side of the device contains a WPS key and another port for an LTE antenna.

SG6

Here’s the device size, compared to the older Zain LTE hotspot (I have the first generation unbranded version), the New Hotspot from Zain and the iPhone 5!

SG10

Here: Top : The new 4GLte Device!

Middle : The Current Zain Hotspot (Huawei)

Bottom : The Iphone 5

SG14

Here’s the device from inside :

Slot for the SIM card and slot for the MicroSD memory card.

SG1

Quite A large battery inside, the nice thing is that it’s interchangable, i.e. you can buy a spare battery later on and have that on standby.

SG2

This is a snapshot of the screen (8 Gb’s in 40 mins) – pretty impressive.

New Zain Lte Hotspot

I tested the device in a high coverage location and got quite impressive results :

Note: I connected my laptop to the Hotspot Via USB cable, the internet rate was incredible!!!

SpeedTest

I got an average consistent speed of 93 Mbps (using direct downloads and Usenet servers)
Speed

On WiFi however like all other mobile hotspots you don’t get the full speed and found it to give a maximum of 40 Mbps – better than the previous model I had (max of 25 Mbps)(most hotspot vendors put the limitation to save battery life of the hotspot and reduce the heat generated).

Overall I highly recommend this device, will be testing it with my PS3 tomorrow and i’ll give you more feedback !
