I’ve been using NFC tags now for quite a while, equipped with trigger apps on the Samsung Note 3, and you have got a preset tap to activate a specific function or set of commands on your smartphone (Android – as Iphones don’t have built in NFC).

Whats nice about them is that you can buy NFC tags quite cheaply 8-10 USD and download programs such as “Trigger” which is able to write the commands or a set procedure list which can be run in the sequence that you program and then you are able to write a trigger to that small set of commands to a tag, therefore whenever you touch your phone to a NFC tag a set of commands occur.
E.g. My Going to Sleep settings :
Disabling the Bluetooth
Setting phone to Silent (without Vibrate)
Set Alarm Volume to 10
Setting Alarm Clock to 6:00 AM

Setting the commands is as simple as you see in the above screen shot, the choices are endless. How many times have you wanted to photograph something but it took you a while to start the camera because you were in an app and your driving at the same time, now you can simply create a NFC tag to start the camera and then close the camera when you touch it again or start twitter or instagram or whatsapp. The uses are endless. Tell me what you would like to use NFC tags for and if you would like me to try a specific scenario to see if it works! ?
NB: If you want to purchase NFC tags make sure they are compatible with your handset as not all of them will work with all phones!

Today i’ll share with you an interesting USB device review for a USB hub that I purchased from Amazon as I needed a device to connect to the Macbook Air (SD card reader and USB hub) were two of my main concerns as the 11″ Macbook Air doesn’t have an SD Card Slot.
While looking around I fell upon this device from Unitek, quite simply Its a great combo and the added benefit which I didn’t know was the fact that you can connect it to your Android device and connect multiple USB devices to the device. E.g you will be able to use a mouse and keyboard as well as access the SD Card slot as well as USB storage devices, therefore it just means it screams I’m a great value for money device!
It comes with a cool USB to Micro USB connector, which I didn’t remember seeing when I bought the item from Amazon.
I tried accessing the SD Card slot and I was able to connect an SD Card as well as a USB mouse and use both at the same time.

I’ve been wanting to test drive the new CTS for quite some time, ever since I saw it in the launch event held by Alghanim motors a while back, and I took these photos there!
[shashin type=”photo” id=”1020″ size=”large” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”] [shashin type=”photo” id=”1020,1014,1021,1019,1012,1016,1017,1010″ size=”small” columns=”4″ order=”user” position=”center” crop=”y”]The one I drove for this review had a 4 Cylinder 2.0L Turbo engine, and was a rear wheel drive car with 272 BHP at 5,500 RPM. The first thing that strikes you is that elegant and sharp front end, the LED lights would make you speechless in admiration for a couple of seconds and I have tried it and got same outcome with a number of people, once you switch the car on using the remote start, they stare at it in admiration.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”1050″ size=”max” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”]The Interior of the Cadillac, is what we are used to in all Cadillacs, but I found it quite refreshing having a lighter car interior it made the car feel a little more spacious and easier for the eyes. (the darker carbon-fiber interior can be seen in the launch photos above).
Driving the CTS was quite enjoyable, the seats were very comfortable bucket seats with one of the most comfortable headrests I have ever tried in a car, and held you in well even when going into corners at a higher than average speed. It seated you in a way that made you feel 100% in control and comfortable at the same time (I tried to imagine what it would be like in the CTS-V – Double the power). The CTS I drove was equipped with Lane and Collision assist, which would vibrate the seat when you are reversing and there’s someone passing behind you, or if you move too close to the car next to you, especially useful if you are talking or listening to music and might miss the sensors going off due to the noise.
The lane assist function, I think we can do without for everyday driving, but for those longer drives, they can very well be life savers.
The Bose sound system was very interesting, it had 3 USB ports and a SD card slot controlled by the 8″ screen with CUE system (includes built in GPS), 11 Speakers and bluetooth support to hook up your phones and ipad, sound quality was great, even at very high volumes.
The AC was great, good climate control and good air flow, it also had air conditioned seats which in the hot weather we are having is a must with leather car seats and it does really make a difference.

[shashin type=”photo” id=”1030″ size=”max” columns=”1″ order=”user” position=”center”] [shashin type=”photo” id=”1030,1032,1051,1052″ size=”small” columns=”4″ order=”user” position=”center” crop=”y”]This particular CTS has a starting price of around 16,195 KWD, I would recommend trying the 6 Cylinder version, I would presume it would drive better at higher speeds due to the extra engine weight in the front, but don’t take me wrong, the 4-Cylinder turbo is more than capable for this car.
