The Latest Gymkhana from Ken Block!

What is Gymkhana!

“Gymkhana events are time and/or speed events in an automobile. These can feature obstacles such as cones, tires, and barrels. The driver must maneuver through a predetermined “track” performing many different driving techniques. What separates gymkhana from traditional autocross events is that the gymkhana requires drivers to perform reversals, 180 degree spins, 360 degree spins, parking boxes, figure 8s, and other advanced skills. Drifting is also encouraged where helpful or necessary. ” Wikipedia

How to sleep late and wake up early!

DudeGeneral, Health 2 Comments

Sometimes you wake up tired and other times energetic, sometimes you wake up with an alarm and sometimes you wait for the alarm to go off. This is all due to the number of sleep cycles and amounts of Deep sleep you have.

I came across this website my wife uses which tells you approximately how many hours of sleep you should get or when you should sleep to wake up at a certain time, in order not to wake up from a deep sleep phase, and complete at least 5-6 complete sleep cycles.

You can use it in two ways, either know when the best time to wake up is by clicking on the “zzz” button, or by selecting what time you have to wake up for it to suggest the best times for you to go to sleep.

Does it work? Well yeah kinda, it can give you  a sense of when to wake up without feeling so heavy and clumsy. Try it out and tell us if it works with you!

Where can I can realllllyyy good Tikka in Kuwait?

DudeFood 4 Comments

If you read earlier I wrote about the Dukan Diet, we’ll i’ve been on it for just under two weeks now and the results are promising. Its based on pure protein diets (meat, fish, poultry) in the first phase, then you can mix in veggies (1 day pure protein 1 day protein with green veggies) and it goes on to two more phases.

So.. I need a nice place that’s family friendly and serves the perfect tikka since I don’t have many dining options and I really like a good grilled meal (both meat and chicken) what do you recommend???

I tried one in the avenues but can’t remember its name it was quite good, i think it was located opposite to lacoste in the corner (not 100% sure though).

Dr. Yoshiro Nakamatsu is  a Japanese Inventor with over 3500 Inventions (of which many you use today), he predicts he will live to 144 and feels that 80 is just the half of his life. He’s got a funny way of buying cameras (you gotta watch the video 1:45 mins).

I’ll stop here.. Watch and Enjoy:

The Pagani Huayra What an Amazing Car

DudeCars Leave a Comment

Facts and Figures (Source: Wikepedia):

  • Estimated to cost $1,150,000
  • The Huayra uses a twin-turbo Mercedes-AMG 60° V-12 engine. ( Same as the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series but modified to reduce turbo lag and improve response).
  • The titanium exhaust system was designed and built by MHG-Fahrzeugtechnik
  • The Huayra’s 6.0-litre engine, the M158, produces 690 horsepower and 1,000 N·m (740 lb·ft) of torque.
  • Its top speed is in excess of 230 mph (370 km/h) and it has a 0–60 miles per hour (0–97 km/h) time of 3.5 seconds.
  •  Using Pirelli tires, the Pagani Huayra is capable of withstanding 1.5g of lateral acceleration at speeds of up to 230 mph (370 km/h).
  • Unlike many modern sports cars, the Pagani Huayra does not use a dual-clutch gearbox; instead it uses a seven-speed sequential gearbox and a dual-disc clutch.
  • The choice not to use a dual-clutch in oil bath was because it would lead to an increase in weight of over 70 kg (154 lb), negating the advantage of the ability of such transmissions to change gears faster. As a result, the entire transmission of the Pagani Huayra weighs 96 kg (210 lb).” (Wikipedia)

NIMR – Manufactured in the UAE

DudeCars Leave a Comment

It gives you a sense of pride to find that a country in the Middle East is producing a vehichle and not just sending money out or requesting one to be created for it. I’m sure in the UAE you’ll find loads of areas of experience especially when trying to create vehicles for harsh weather environments and deserts. They’ve created a vehicle that’s top in its area for the harsh weather environments, with AC’s that could beat the desert’s heat and enough protection for its passengers.

They recently participated at the Eurosatory in 2012 to showcase their development to the  world. Currently its deployed in Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia and the UAE.

I only wish in Kuwait we could start relying on creating something new rather than depending on the oil sector. We talk so much about our past but forget to focus on the future!
